FAQs

Do you offer a consultation?

Yes, I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation. During our chat I will ask some questions about you and what’s bringing you into therapy as well as tell you a bit about how I practice. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you have about therapy and my practice. Please complete the contact form or email me to schedule.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

I offer teletherapy sessions for clients in California and Texas.

Do you accept insurance?

I am not an in-network provider in California. However, your insurance plan may include out-of-network mental health coverage. You may want to contact your insurance company to inquire if your plan covers out-of-network outpatient office visits. If your plan includes out of network benefits, I can provide you with monthly receipts of service (known as “superbills”) to submit to your insurance company.

At this time, I am in-network with a select few insurance networks in Texas. Please inquire about your network in the contact form. If I am not an in-network provider under your insurance plan, you can check to see if you have out-of-network coverage that applies.

How long are therapy sessions?

A standard therapy session is 45-50 minutes. EMDR sessions may be booked as a standard session or as a longer session of 75-90 minutes.

How often should I come to therapy? How long will I be in therapy?

Most of my clients begin with weekly sessions and scale back to biweekly or monthly sessions as we see fit. If meeting every other week works better for you we can start with that as well.

We will use the goals we create together and the pace at which you progress to gauge our time together. For some, therapy lasts several months. Other clients prefer to continue therapy long term for maintenance of their mental health, continued support and a space to learn about themselves.
